Whitney attended Warner Avenue Elementary school and was the school President in the 5th grade, while her sister Paige was school Secretary that same year. She then went to Crossroads School (Santa Monica, California) for the Arts and Sciences for middle school and high school.

In 2007, Whitney graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) with a degree in gender studies.

In a recent interview in Teen Vogue with Lauren Conrad, Whitney said that Lauren and Audrina Patridge had invited her to move in their apartment, but she declined the offer.[citation needed]
